Warm weather policies at Tails and Shells.
Your pups safety is always our top priority. In the summer months when it starts to heat up we will often not be able to offer our usual daycare, walking and training services.
We follow safety guidelines set by industry experts. Everything up to 21 degree's is business as usual.
Once the temperature reaches 20 degree's, we may start to shorten our walking times. If we feel one of pups within our group is suffering we may stop that walk altogether. On the walks themselves we will stop for a rest and water break often. We will seek shade where possible and also try walk in places with an opportunity for a swim/paddle to cool off. We will also discourage excessive play or chase games and may do on lead walks only.
In excess of 25 degrees we cancel all walks.
Instead we will offer visits throughout the day so your pups will still have the chance to use the toilet and have company. We may still offer short walks earlier in the day while it is cooler, between the hours of 8am-10am. As long as the temperature is below 22 degrees at the time of the walk.
